Bicycle Chain



I made this simulation to check if something like that is possible with Catia V5 and what problems may come up. Although the result is quite ok, I had to cheat a few times. The chain links for example only move a length of 2 chains before they jump back and start again. This jump is fast and not to recognize and so the simulation seems running without interruption. Unfortunatly the simulation is quite sensitive towards changes of the position of the chain links. It happens fast that the condition of contact is not fullfilled anymore and therefore the simulation does not work.
The big number of single chain links that all need separate conditions make such a simulation quite complex. As a consequence such a simulation is possible with Catia V5, but not really reasonable.
